Károly Fizl
SPECIALIZES IN: OIL AND ACRYLIC
My name is Károly Fizl, I was born under the soft-core dictatorship in Hungary,
17. 11. 1977. Both of my parents lived with hearing impairment, so the sign-
language was the first language for me. I grew up in this poor, honest,
hardworking and loving family. It was a long road before Painting and Me had a
chance to meet.
After my primary schools I completed a food industry school, specialized
in diary, and then was enlisted in the Hungarian people’s army for compulsory
military service for one year. Later on I graduated, and due to my studies in a
health-care school, I also became an emergency medical technician.
It was at my first perspectivic workplace, a Publisher, where artistic books
(biographies, masterworks, renaissance and baroque painting styles, street art
etc.) really touched me. Later on I was employed at a veterinary drug strore.
Now as an emergency medical technician I’m running a two-persons micro-
business in patient transportation.
As mentioned, I came to learn oil and acril painting as an autodidact
bookworm. It was realy a beautiful and exciting period, a beginning of the Flow!
Since then, I cannot stop painting. A deliberate accidentality drives my always
experimenting brushstrokes, accompanied by my incessant curiosity, the
excitements of exploration, and the enjoyment of creation.
I’m getting a lot of supports from my loved ones, from home and abroad
alike. At present, I have an exhibition in the Yellow Pub Restaurant, GödöllÅ‘,
Hungary. I’m living in Budapet with my adored family, including my three
biological and two adopted children. A big family with cool faces… And Life is
a big player…
